Dr. Adam Madison began practicing clinical optometry in 2001 and his current areas of emphasis include Lasik and other refractive surgery consultations, surgical co-management, Diabetic eye exams, Pediatric eye exams and specialty contact lenses. Born and raised in Virginia,Dr. Madison received his Doctor of Optometry Degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry Philadelphia, PA. His clinical externships included rotations in Vitreoretinal disease, anterior segment disease, emergency eye service, uveitis, neuro eye and glaucoma. Dr. Madison is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Dr. A. Madison currently serves as Eye Care Doctors of Optometry’s Co-Clinical Director where he is responsible for the proper selection of candidates for laser eye surgery and coordinating treatment plans with the surgeon. In his “spare” time, Dr. Madison raises two wonderful children with his wife, reads, and likes to take in a movie and dinner now and then.
Mitra S. Madison, O.D.
Dr Mitra Madison completed her Bachelors from George Mason University in Fairfax,Va. She graduated in 2000 with her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. In 2005 she joined her husband Dr Adam Madison in establishing Eye Care Doctors of Optometry, and continues to enjoy the everyday challenges of working at a medical practice and providing healthcare to the fine people of Fredericksburg and the surrounding areas.
In addition to practing full primary care, Dr Madison has developed several specialties including Ocular Disease, contact lenses and laser vision correction. She has attained systemic, topical and diagnostic therapeutic drug license privileges in Virginia.
Dr Madison enjoys her time with her beautiful son and daughter and her husband.
Carissa Novotny, O.D.
Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Carissa Novotny attended Marist College,New York, and graduated on the Dean’s List with a Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-med and her Paralegal certificate. After graduation, she moved cross-country to pursue an Optometric Education at the Southern California College of Optometry School.
During her rotations, Dr. Novotny was an extern at various types of Optometric practices. She worked at the Veteran’s Hospital in Tucson, seeing and working with low vision patients at the rehabilitation center. She worked on an Indian Reservation in Oregon, serving the Native American population. On her rotation back in California, she externed at the TLC Laser Center, also performing vision screenings at local schools.
Upon graduation, Dr. Novotny moved to Scottsdale, Arizona. In that time, she worked at a pediatric practice in Phoenix and a geriatric practice in Sun City, before moving to Green City, AZ in 2013. She recently relocated back to the East Coast with her husband, where she currently sees a wide age range of patients from pediatric to elderly.
Dr. Novotny is an active member of the American Optometric Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, cooking, running, and doing crafts.
